Description : Geometrical Analysis of Optimal Shapes is a topic in mathematics that is at the intersection of Analysis and Geometry. A lot of questionings are related to physics, mechanics and biology. And these last years intensive research activities (in the theory and in the numerical point of view) have been realized. It appears that a good training in Analysis and in some Geometric aspect are necessary for a well understanding of the stated problems. The main scientific challenge in this topic is the qualitative study of optimal shapes for some classes of shape functionals involving partial differential equations and/or geometric quantities associated naturally with shapes: measure, perimeter, curvature. Another interesting questioning is how to handle non smooth or singular shapes (with or without constraints), to understand the minimal regularity under which one can extract information from the optimality conditions, to prove this regularity and finally to obtain qualitative information about the optimal shape. The aim of this school was to give opportunities to young researchers and even to some interested senior researchers to keep in touch with existing networks and to be trained in the theory and in the numerical methods in order to enforce the already existing group in Analysis and Geometry of researchers in NLAGA Project.
